Welcome Fall 2018 Candidates!

Last semester we welcomed 14 new brothers into the Alpha Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi. After a semester of various Professional, Social and Philanthropic events, these brothers have shown significant growth both professionally and personally.

Please join us in welcoming our fellow Fall 2018 brothers! We are excited to see the impact our new actives make within the organization in the semesters to come!

Nicholas Nikolov

2017 Recipient of the Elijah Watt Sells Award

Congrats are in order for BAP alum, Nicholas Nikolov, recipient of the Elijah Watt Sells Award! To earn this outstanding achievement, Nicholas not only passed all four parts of the CPA exam on his first attempt, but obtained a cumulative average score above 95.50. Over 95,000 individuals sat for the exam in 2017 and only 58 had the honor of receiving this award.

Nicholas was a part of the Fall 2015 rush class and is currently working in Deloitte's Audit Practice in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We are incredibly proud of his achievements and look forward to staying in touch!

Exodus World Service

Throughout the semester, our chapter partnered with the organization Exodus World Service by collecting household supplies to donate to a refugee family. Exodus World Service is an organization that helps welcome refugees into the community by providing tutors for English, connecting them with American families, and donating supplies to make their transition to the States a little easier.
Last Tuesday, April 24, Mike Eichhorn and Matt Baranowski traveled up to Chicago to personally deliver the supplies to the refugee family and welcome them to the United States. Here's what Mike had to say about his experience:

"Matt and I left at around 3:30pm to head to Chicago. The apartment was located in the Lincoln Park area and was actually pretty nice. We helped the Nguerebanda family which consisted of two brothers: Steven and Joseph. Both only spoke French, so there was a translator there for us to communicate with them. The two had just arrived from Brazzaville which is the capital of Congo, but they are originally from Central African Republic. Matt and I arrived at the house at about 7:30 and they had just landed at 6:15 so they were pretty tired (their plane ride was about 15 hours because they made a number of stops). After conversing for a bit, we helped them set up their new apartment with all of the supplies we had donated. We set the bed, organized the bathroom and kitchen, etc. Because they were both exhausted from the plane ride, we did not stay very long after setting up. Overall, it was an incredibly rewarding experience."

Check out the pictures below of Nguerebanda family and their new home!

It is so incredible to see the impact that BAP made on Steven and Joseph's new life. Huge shout out to Matt and Mike for helping the family set up, and thanks to our awesome members that supported this amazing cause.

Canoe on the Kickapoo

Last Sunday, April 22, BAP took an adventure out to Kickapoo State Park to canoe 8 miles down the river for an afternoon. Although some members have had experience on the water before, for many it was their very first time rowing down the river. Even though there were some capsized canoes, everyone made it down the river safely, and felt an even closer connection with their brothers.
Check out the highlights below!

Food by Exec

Dinner's Ready!

Last Sunday, April 15, in place of our usual chapter, the Exec team treated the entire chapter to homemade dinner! Not only did we enjoy some amazing food, but we also had the opportunity to hear from Dee Walker, an audit manager at Caterpillar, and her incredible career.

Check out these pictures of BAP having a great time together!

Huge shout out to the Exec team for providing FANTASTIC food, and thanks again to Dee for spending some time with our chapter.

Candidate Talent Show

Last Thursday, April 5th, our candidate class had the opportunity to showcase their amazing talents in BAP's second Candidate Talent Show. It was a great chance for BAP to get to know the Spring 2018 candidate class, and some of our actives even participated in the show! Some talents included singing/lip syncing, dancing, magic, and even jawline flexing. Take a look at some of the highlights.

BAP voted for their favorite acts on the following Sunday during chapter. A huge congratulations to our winners: Christian Lantin, Matthew Wong, and Iris Huang. Enjoy your bragging rights!

Every act was so much fun, and we can't wait to see what Fall 2018 candidates have in store for next semester!
